Exiting the military? TFS is now partnered with the DoD SkillBridge program

NEW BERN, N.C.—D2 Government Solutions (D2GS) and Tradewind Flight Services (TFS) is excited to announce our new relationship with the Department of Defense as an authorized provider of the SkillBridge training program for active duty military personnel who are transitioning to civilian life.

Leaving military service can be filled with uncertainty. Each year nearly 200,000 members of the U.S. Armed Forces will separate from active duty and re-enter civilian life. This will be an exciting but stressful transition as you prepare for the road ahead. But thanks to the DoD SkillBridge program, you can take your next steps with confidence.

The SkillBridge training program is an excellent opportunity as you plan your life after the military. The program matches your service experience with civilian job opportunities that can enhance your marketability in your post-separation career.

“As a veteran-owned small business, we couldn’t be happier to support this incredible program that gives back to the veteran after years of their faithful service,” D2GS President Darryl Centanni said. “The unique opportunities at our flight school and corporate headquarters will really open doors for interns who take advantage of the SkillBridge program.”

This program is open to all military personnel of any rank enlisted or officer. SkillBridge will allow candidates to use up to the last 180 days of their service to train with an industry partner. During your participation in the program, you will continue to receive military compensation along with your military benefits.

“We are proud to be one of the 475 organizations that is officially authorized to participate in the SkillBridge program,” D2GS CEO Dave Ricker said. “From aviation to administration, we want to welcome the service members in the Eastern North Carolina region to an organization who truly appreciates your sacrifice.

Established in 2010, D2GS is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOB) that is headquartered in New Bern, North Carolina. D2GS also owns and operates Tradewind Flight Services that provides premier flight instruction and general aviation maintenance services. It is owned and managed by retired U.S. Naval aviators and a dedicated staff of support professionals.

“We look forward to working with new members of the veteran community as they transition into civilian life.” Ricker said.
