Our Curriculum
The Professional Aeronautics Certification (PAC) program offers a comprehensive curriculum designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge needed to become professional pilots. The program is structured into four main courses, each building upon the previous one to ensure a thorough understanding of aviation principles and practices.

Private Pilot License (PPL)
Duration: 4 months
Earn your FAA Private Pilot License in a single-engine airplane with our comprehensive program. You'll start with a lot of training hours upfront, giving you a solid base to operate safely in visual conditions. The course includes 70 flight hours and 5 simulation hours to ensure you're well-prepared.

Instrument Flight Rating (IFR)
Duration: 4 months
The Instrument Flight Rules (IFR) rating is an addon to your PPL that prepares you to fly safely in clouds and limited visibility. Similar to the PPL course, this IFR course is front-loaded with 58 flight hours and 25 simulation hours, which is more than double the minimum hours required by the FAA for an IFR rating.

Commercial Pilot License (CPL)
Duration: 4 months
Earn your Commercial Pilot License (CPL) in a single-engine airplane in this course. Students will earn a total of 200 flight hours and 50 simulation hours across PPL, IFR and CPL training. CPL graduates will be fully prepared and employable as commercial pilots.

Flight Instructor (CFI) (Optional)
Duration: 4 months
Broaden your entry-level job prospects with our Flight Instructor course and earn two concurrent licenses: Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) and Certified Flight Instructor Instrument (CFII) to increase job opportunities across the US. D2 offers preferential hiring for BCCC graduates in open CFI and CFII positions.

Multi-Engine (ME) Rating (Optional)
Duration: 2 months
Enhance your piloting skills with our Multi-Engine (ME) rating program. Earn your ME rating and Multi-Engine Instructor (MEI) certification, or complete 25 additional ME flight hours. Benefit from one-on-one instruction with an MEI and self-study, without the need for classroom-based ground school.
