D2 FLIGHT ACADEMY
DoD SkillBridge Flight Training Program
Leaving military service for life in the civilian sector can be filled with uncertainty. Each year nearly 200,000 members of the U.S. Armed Forces will separate from active duty and re-enter civilian life. This will be an exciting but stressful transition as you prepare for the road ahead. But thanks to the DoD SkillBridge program, you can take your next steps with confidence.
The SkillBridge training program is an excellent opportunity as you plan your life after the military. The program matches your service experience with civilian job opportunities that can enhance your marketability in your post-separation career.
“SkillBridge partners with private industries to help veterans find jobs, but also enables companies to find the workforce that they need for their industries” Matthew P. Donovan former Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness said.
As a veteran-owned and operated business, D2 Government Solutions (D2GS) and D2 Flight Academy (D2FA) understand the essential contributions military service members make to our Country.
We recognize members of the United States Military are dedicated individuals who bring unique experiences and skills to our team. We are also one of the few flight academies to participate in the Department of Defense SkillBridge program.
Our status as a DoD SkillBridge Authorized Organization enables D2 Flight Academy to offer real-world training and work experience to United States service members transitioning to civilian life.
The demand for pilots and aviation professionals has never been greater and D2 has created a SkillBridge internship to give retiring and separating service members the opportunity to become pilots without having previous flight experience.
Overview
The SkillBridge candidate will participate in D2GS/D2FA aviation operations. Depending on the duration of the approved SkillBridge program and previous flight training experience, the participant will be able to complete up to a Commercial Pilot and Flight Instructor airplane rating through use of outside education benefits or self-funding. Generally, an individual starting with no flight experience will begin training at the Private Pilot level.
